CAMBRIDGE HIGH LEVEL BRIDGE.

THE CONTRACT SIGNED. Yesterday, his Worship the Mayorreceived the pleasing intelligence from Mr J. E. Fulton, the engineer for the high level bridge scheme, who proceeded to America a couple of months ago, that the U.y. Steel Export Products Co. had signed the contract for the supply of material for the bridge. The news will he hailed with the greatest satisfaction by residents of this district, as there is now every indication that in a few months the erection of the bridge will be an accomplished fact. The Mayor (Mr W. F. Puckland) and Councillors are deserving of every credit for their efforts in connection with such a large undertaking, despite the many disappointing delays and almost insurmountable difficulties which they have met with. In entrusting the carrying out of such an important work to Mr Fulton, an engineer of high qualifications and wide experience, the Borough Council acted wisely. It is expected that further particulars regarding the scheme will he received by the Council in a few days.
