SYDNEY, December 13. The body of a Chinaman was recently found in the harbor with a rope round the neck. It has been identified as that ot a stowaway who arrived by the steamer Airlie. It was supposed at the time that it was a case of suicide, but subsequently the police received information which raised suspicions of foul play amongst the Chinese crew of the Airlie. December 14. According to a fellow stowaway, the Chinaman was too sick to get ashore. He demanded the return of the money paid to enable him to stowaway, which the Chinese portion of the Airlie’s crew received. The latter declined a refund and threw him in the harbour. The police, however, favour the theory of suicide.
