GERMANS SEEK TO CUT THE RUSSIAN LINES. A EIGHT FOR A PASS. 1000 GUNS IN ACTION. AUSTRIANS DISLODGED AFTER HEAVY LOSSES. Received 2 p.m., 4th. Petrograd, October 3. The Russians have captured two forts at Przemysi from which they were enabled to si lance several batteries. It is reported that the Germans are advancing in great force from Galicia, seeking to cut the Russian lines at Warasw. Cossack outposts are far afield in Hungary. Nearly a thousand guns were in action during a fight at Uzsok Pass, where the Austrians made an obstinate defence, but entire companies were wiped out, ami they retreated after being dislodged from three positions. Bucharest, October 3. After occupying the principal towns in Bukovina the Russians have begun their advance on Austria, and have concentrated several army corps, including these formerly on the Servian border. In order to the defeat the movement a big battle is imminent.
