Messrs and Co., Ltd., report:— MATIERE SALE. We held our usual monthly sale in the above uirdson September 28th, when we had a good yarding of stock. There was a large attendance of buyers, and practically the whole yarding changed hands. We quote—Store ccavs £3 18s to £5 Is, 18months empty heifers £3 4s to £4, 2-year-old steers £4 15s to £5, yearling steers £3 to £3 10s, yearling heifers £2 8s to £2 16s, heavy bulls £5 10s, dairy cows £5 to £7 10s. TAUMARUNUI SALE, We held our usual sale in the yards at, Taumarunui on Tuesday, 29th September, when there was only a small yarding, prices being about equal to those ruling in the Waikato. CAMBRIDGE HORSE FAIR.

We held our usual spring horse fair in the Cambridge yards on 30th September, when more than the advertised number of horses came forward. There was a large attendance of buyers, there being an unsatisfied demand fur draughts of all classes. Practically the whole yarding of draughts changed hands. Light horses and squibs were not wanted, and were dull of sale. HAMILTON STOCK SALE.

We held our usual tri-weekly sale in the above yards on Thursday, Ist October, when we yarded 2000 sheep and 250 head of cattle. There was a good attendance of buyers, and cattle again showed an advance in prices, there being a good demand for all classes. Sheep were not quite as firm as at previous sales. We quote:—Shorn fat wethers small litis (id, prime fat wethera fat ewes 22s to 2b's, best woolly hoggets 17s ltd, prime hoggets ltis, cull hoggets 13s, cull ewes and lambs IGs to 209, prime fat cows heavy-weights £8 Bs to £9 9s, medit m-wcighta £6 Ins to £7 17s fid, fat heifers £5 15s to £6 ss, forward empty cows £5 Is to £6, small and poor empty cows £3 15s to £4 10s, cows and calves £5 5a to £0 15s, good yearling steers £ll to £3 Ills, yearling heifers from £2 15s to £3 Ss. heavy bulls £7 7s to £9 9s, best dairy co*vs£7 to £8 10s, b:st dairy heifers close to profit £0 15s to £8 68, cull cows and small heifers £4 10s to £5 ss.
