STIRRTNG SCENES AT MARSEILLES. IMMENSE ENTHUSIASM. Received 10.25 a.m., 3rd. Paris, October 2nd. There were stirring scenes at Marseilles when the Indian British troops marched to their camping grounds. The streets and roads were crammed with excited spectators crying, "Vivent les Hindos," and struggling to shake hands. The women presented them with cigarettes and fruit, and the girls PlreWed [lowers and pinned them on the tunics and turban?. The enthusiasm reached fever heat when the Gurkhas struck up the "Marsellaise" on their weird instruments. Many of the younger natives leapt three feet in the air waving the Union Jack and Tricolour.
