A meeting of a majority of the Provisional Committee of the Irish National Volunteers elected Mr Redmond as president. Resolutions were adopted appealing to Irishmen at home and abioad ior funds to equip and trun volunteers to carry out the defence of Ireland, the advancement ot Irish rights, and the maintenance of selfgovenm^nt, Mr Redmond has received from America £6OOO to arm and equip the National Volunteers.
