A PRETTY WIT.

BRADFORD'S GERMAN DEBTORS. SENDING WAR LOAN SCRIP. London, September 30. German firms owing money to Bradford exporters have intimated that they are investing the amounts in German war loans, and are sending the scrip to Bradford in payment of their trade debts.

As Bradford exporters require £1,750,000 from Germany and Austria, the intimation has caused dismay. The Germans. have intimated that they will not respect contracts made prior to the war.

The Bradford Chamber of Commerce has resolved to ask the Government to relieve the export merchants by making advances against approved foreieo trade debts to the extent of 7b per cent. The total debts owing in the Bradford district, including American, are now estimated at £6,000.000.
