ZABERN VERDICT RANKLES. Berlin, January 13. Only the extreme military party and the Socialists are jubilant at the verdict in the Zabern affair as confirming their respective contentions. Count Yorek, speaking in the Prussian Diet, declared that the Reichstag aimed at following the English example in 1642 by sharing the control with the army. Herr von Bethmann-Hollweg, Chancellor, replied that every Prussian who was true to the constitution, passionately desired to maintain the army against attacks and prevent it from becoming a parliamentary army.
