A Sentence Reduced.

Received 12.10 p.m., 14th. London, January 13. The sentence of a year's imprisonment passed on Joseph Josephson, who early in December was convicted on a charge of stripping and smacking girls, has been reduced to three months, on the ground that there was no real evidence of indecency.

Joseph Josephson, who is a Russian master builder, was, in addition to the year's imprisonment, recommended for deportaton for chastising apprenticed girl typistes aged 16 and 18 respectively by stripping and smacking them. Josephine had previously served 10 years for administering a drug and two years for fraud
