A FRENCH VIEW. Received 12.40 a.m., 14th Paris, January 13. In an interview yesterday M. Briand, the leader of the new French party, and the ex-Socialist Premier, said "that Mr Lloyd-George showed too much impulsiveness and too much ardour in the light. This was due to his Celtic origin. The speaker never understood that Mr Lloyd-George was weakening on the entente cordiale, but as Chancellor of the Exchequer and a man of peace he was seeking to lessen the strain on British finances.
