Received 5.5 p.m., 11th. Washington, January 10. there has been a marked increase in the importation of foodstuffs, especially in fresh beef and cattle, largely lrom Europe. Australasia sent £580,000 worth through the Pacific ports in November. According to a report of the Department of Commerce a large expansion in the Australasian supplies ot meat is likely.
