INSTITUTE OF SURVEYORS
ANNUAL MEETING. Jiy Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Monday. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Institute of Surveyors officers were elected as follows:—-Vice-President, Mr P. Chambers; Councillors, Messrs A. 11. bridge and L. C. Sladden; auditors, Messrs J. S. Welch and W. S. Wheeler. It was decided to urge upon the Surveyor - General that expert draughtsmen should be supplied to keep the plan work of the standards surveyors up to the field work that has been done in the various localities. It was also resolved to recommend the council to amend the scale of charges. It was further decided that the date of the original certificate, dated 26th December, 1854, issued to Mr A. P. Seymour, of Picton, by the Nelson Provincial Goverment, authorising him to undertake survey work, be endorsed, on his application. This certificate is probably the oldest New Zealand certificate held by any surveyor in the Dominion.
