AUCKLAND MARKETS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Limited, report:—At Westfield yards, on Wednesday, fat cattle came forward in average numbers, and showed no improvement in prices, best quality oxen selling to 28a per 100b, others 24a to 265; cows and heifers, 23a to 25s per 10011b; steers sold at from £8 5a to £l3; cows and heifers, £4 10s to £8 17s 6d. Calves were penned in good supply, and sold at luterates. Heavy venters sold at from JE3 10s to £4 13s, medium weight £2 5a to £2 18s, others 23s to 345, smaller and fresh-dropped 5s to 20a. Sheep were yarded in average numbers, and sold at slightly increas°d rates. Wethers in wool, sold at from 21s to 20a 9d, shorn wethers, 16s Cd to £1 0s 9d; evvoa, in wool, 17s 6d to 22s 6d, shorn ewes, 14s 3d to IGs 9d; hoggets. 14s 6d to 16a 9d. Lambs were penned in less numbers than usual. Beat quality, IGs to 18s 6d, others 13s 9d to 15s 6d. Riga were yarded in large numbers, and sold at a shade easier. Baconers, £2 15s to £3 4s; large porkers, £2 5s to £2 12s; porkers, £1 45s to £2; slips, 25s to 31s. No wcancts yaraed. Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons report:—At our weekly Westfield fat stock inarKet on Wednesday, November 13, we yarded fat cattle to the number of 371 head. Competition was only moderate, and values suffered a further drop of 10s per head. Choice ox solU to £1 Bs, prime £1 4s to £1 6s, cows and heifers 19s to £1 ss. Steers ranged in price from £7 10s to £l3, cows and heifers £4 to £9 7s 6d. There was a keen demand for the 93 fat and small calves penned. Runners brought £4 11s to £6 15s, heavy suckers £3 5s to £4 ss, choice medium suckers £1 18s to £3, light £1 5s to £1 15s, small and fresh-dropped 7s to 16s, weedy 3s to ss. There was an average yarding of fat sheep, including several consignments of extra well-finished wethers. There was an improved demand, and and prices improved to the extent of Is 6d per head. Extra heavy shorn wethers fetched £1 Is to £1 2s 9d, heavy 19s to £1 6s, medium 16s to 18b 6d, heavy woolly wethers £1 3s 3d to £1 5a 3d, others 19s 6d to £1 2a 6d, best heavy woolly ewes £1 2s 6d to £1 4s 6d, others 17s to £1 Is, beat shorn to 17s 9d, good 17a to £1 la, beat shorn to 17a 9d, good 13s to 16s, others 10s 6d to 12s 6d (1725 sold). The 335 lambs penned were better worth by fully 2s per head. Best heavy brought 17s to 19a 3d. good 14s to 16s 6d, smaller 12s 6d to 13s 9d. small 9s 6d to 12s. Pigs came forward in full numbers, and were again easier in price, heavy porkers and baconers being affei ted most. Choppers made £3 5s to £3 10s; heavy baconers £2 15s to £3 ss, lighter £2 6s to £2 14s, large porkers £1 19a to £2 ss, lighter £) 8s to £1 17s 6d, weaners 17s to 19s 6d (135 sold). Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their usual weekly fat stock sale at Westfield on Wednesday, November 13, as under:—Beef: An average yarding. Prices were again a shade lower. Choice pens of prime ox sold at equal to 27s per 1001b, ordinary quality at 25s to 265; cow and heifer beef at 21s to 24s, according to quality. Veal: A large yarding. Prices were a shade lower. Heavy runners sold at £2 15a to £3 Bs, suckers at 23s to 435, others 4s to 25a. Mutton: A moderate yarding. Prices were a shade higher than last week. Heavy woolly wethers fetched up 25s Cd, medium weight 22s 6d to 245. extra heavy shorn wethers made 19s 3d to 22s 6d, good 18s to 19s, light 16a 6d to 17s 6d; heavy woolly ewes up to 225, inferior 17s 6d to 19s; heavy shorn ewes 14s 6d to 16? 6d, others 12s 6d to 13a 6d. Lamb: An average yarding. Prices were about Is to 2s higher than last week. Extra heavy lambs made up to 18s Ud, heavy 14s to 16s, light 10s to 12s. Pork; A large yarding, and prices were considerably lower than late rates. Heavy porkers fetched 34s to 495, light 26s to 325; baconers, £2 15s to £3 ss.
