We held onr Ngaruawahia stock Bale on Friday, the 10th inst.. when a small yarding cf cattle came forward, more than half the entries failing to come in on account of the verv bad state of the weather. Buyers from all round the district were present, mostly in quest of grown bullocks, which unfortunately did not come forward. Bidding was not very btisk, but we were successful in disposing of most of the yarding after the sale. We quote as | follows:-Good forward cows. sgs; yearling steers, £3 4s to £3 10s; yearling heifers. £2 15s to £3 3s; empty dairy heifers, £ I 7s. LONDON MARKEiS. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Turkey's; Home, 9d to lOd; Hungarian, 7d to Bd. Hams: The market is quiet, hut steady, with good demand for lightweights. Irish, BSs to 112 a per cwt.; English, 90s to 110s; Canadian, 58a to C6a; American, 54s to GGs. Bacon: The market is steady, with moderate demand. Sides: Irish, 58s to GBs per cwt.; Continental. 52s to 63a; American, 52s to Gls; Canadian, 55s to GOs. Under date 2nd November our Melbourne office report that production in Victoria has had a set v back owing to a spell of severe weather, and though it may recover somewhat, it hardly locks aa if last season’s output would be equalled.
