LONDON WOOL MARKET. The following advico has been received from the London office of Dalgety and Co., Hamilton:—“We cabled you that the sales here continued irregular, and owing to the uncertainty of the political situation and rumouis of a coal strike before Christmas, we did not expect any immediate improvements in prices, while we considered that future prospects were more in favour of pome further fall than an advance unless American buyers came into the market. Of this latter possibility there is no indication at the moment, and we rather look for prices to continue round about the present basis next series. The outlook, however, is to uncertain owing to unrest, both, politically and in the labour world, that any forecast that one may make j is liable to be entirely upset at any j moment by a strike or some development of the present war. The position really depends largely on confidence, as trade here and in France is ! still good, with no apparent accumul- | ation of stocks, though Germany | seems to have been overtrading, and may have to restrict purchases for a time.”
