AUCKLAND WOOL SALES
Tho first Auckland wool sale of the 1911-1912 season will be held in the Chamber of Commerce on November 22nd. The catalogues will be closed on Friday, and it is expected that they will aggregate between 6000 and 7000 bales, approximately the same quantity as that entered for the first sale of last season. Broken weather recently has interfered with shearing and transport of wool to the stores, and the anticipation —in view of tho mild winter—that tho shearing would bo early has not been realised. Clips which have already been delivered into the stores are sound and well grown, but light in condition. As a result of the paucity of feed during the greater part of the growing season, much of the wool is very dry and wasty. The hogget wool is especially tender, and much of it is tick-stained. There will be no increase in the total quantity of wool sold in Auckland this season, as the flocks, according to the annual sheep returns, have been decreased by 88,001) sheep.
