Cheap Cables. Sydney, June 11. In reference to the statement by Mr Millvvard, manager of the Pacific Cable Hoard, that deferred cable rates would probably be established as a world-wide fact, the Postmaster General, Mr Thomas, says he is more concerned in getting cheap cables for the people who use them for social purposes than fen those using them for business purposes. It cables could be sent throughout the Empire for sixpence a word, it would do more in binding the Empire together than any reciprocal treaties. Business people could pass on the cost of cables to consumers, this was not the case in social messages. Sorting Cargo. Sydney,- June 11.
