The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company report : CLEARING SALES.

On Monday at Waerenga we held clearing sales on behalf of Messrs Lindsay Bros., and Alexander Kiddie. The attendance of neighbouring settlers was large, and a number of Waikato farmers also were present. Quotations were:—Ewes in lamb, 16s 9d; hoggets, 9s 6d; 3 to 3J year store steers, £4 15s; 2 year steers, £3 12 i 6d; empty 2.1 and 3 year store heifers, £2 17s 6d; fat and forward heifers, £4 10s; dairy cows and heifers, £3 to £5 ss; calves, 31s; aged medium draught horses, £lO 10s to £l4 10s; draught foals, £lO to £l2; two year draughts, £18; waggon, £ls 10s; drill, £ls; implements and sundries at usual rates.

On the same day we held a clearing sale at Mr Chas. Lake's.Hautapu, and have to report a most successful sale. There was a large attendance and brisk bidding throughout. Springing heifers, best, £6 to £9; others, £4 10s to £5; draughts, rising 2 years, £24 to £27 10s; lighter sorts, £2O; draught foal, £lB 10s; heavy draught mares, £43 to £52; draught geldings, £39; three year hack, £2O 10s; pigs: slips, 24s to 335; sow and 9 young, £10; sows, £5 10s to £6; 18 months and two year heifers, £3 to 3Jgns; yearling heifers, £2 15s; good calves, £2; waggon, £3l; reaper and binder, £l9; tip dray, £l3 10s. The furniture made the usual prices. We held a clearing sale at John McSweeney's, Aratiatia, last Thursday, and have to report a most successful sale. The dairy herd being known to be a first class one, attracted a large attendance, and brisk bidding was maintained right through the sale. The herd of 75 cows averaged £7 15s, the highest priced cow being £l2 15s; calves, £1 Is; two tip drays, £9 10s; waggon, £2l 10s; d.f. plough, £ls; "roller, £8; disc harrows, £7 7s 6d; Champ, drill, £l4; full mouth ewes, in lamb, 15s; heavy draught mare, £SO; heavy draught geldir.g, £39 ss; light draught, £25 15s to £26 10s. On Saturday, at 11 a.m., we held a clearing sale at Lower Waitoa, on account of F. B. Fisher. There was a good attendance, and satisfactory prices realised. The majority of the cows made from £5 to £8; draught foal, £11; rising 2 year draught colt, £ls.

On Saturday, at 2 p.m., we held a clearing sala'at W. Simon's, Waitoa station, and have also to report a successful sale. Fat and forward wethers 17s Id; fat and forward woolly hoggets, 12s 4d; dairy cows, from £5 to £6 ss; older sorts, £4; heifeis, £5 to £6 10s; others, £3 to £4. OHAUPO SALE. At Ohaupo, on Tuesday last, we yarded 650 head of cattle, and 8500 sheep. There was a good attendance, prices for young cattle were eas;er than the fortnight previous, and the sheep were required, prices being better than for some time. The . majority were disposed of under the hammer. Two and a half year steers, £4 10s; 2 year steers, £3 14s to £4; 15 and 18 months steers, £2 16s to £3 ss; good calves, mixed, 34s to 40s; others, 25s to 275; yearling steers, £2 ss; full mouthed ewes in lamb, 17s 5d to 19s; same class ewes, with less condition, 14s to 16s; full mouth ewes in lamb, 10s 6d to lis 4d; woolly hoggets, 10s 4d to 10s lid; shorn ewe hoggets, lis to llsd; shorn wether hoggets, 10s to 10s 2d; others, 8s 6d to 9s 6d; fat ewes, 13s 6d; fat wethers, 16s 4d to £1 0s 3d; forward wethers, 14s to 16s 6d. MATAMATA SALE. At Matamata, on Wednesday last, we yarded 3000 sheep and 200 store cattle, and 250 dairy cows. There was a large attendance, and prices for sheep were easier than at Ohaupo the previous day. Store cattle were required, and sold readily; also young and sound dairy cows close to profit —old cows, as usual, being unsaleable. Two tooth ewes in lamb, 16s 9d; 2, 4, 6, and S tooth ewes, 16s 4d to 17s; choice, full mouth ewes, 16s 6d to 17s 6d; woolly hoggets, 10s 6d; fat and forward cows, £4 5s to £4 19s; 18 months steers, £3 to £3 7s; calves and yearlings, mixed, 38s to £2; younger sorts, 18s to 30s; good dairy cows close to profit, £5 10s; others, £2 10s to £3 15s; heifers, £5 to £5 15s; others, £4 10s. WAIHOU SALE. At Waihou on Friday we yarded 500 head of cattle and 200 sheep. 91 beef penned were required and practically all sold. Well fattened steers, £8 5s to £9 2s 6d; lighter weights, £6 10s to £7 12s 6d; fat cows, £5 15s to £6; others, £3 to £4 6s; fresh three year steers, £5 2s 6d to £5 lis; 18 months steers, £3 5s to £3 9s; yearlings, 39s to 255; calves, £1 7s 6d to 38s; younger sorts, 15s to 265; choice cows, close to profit, £5 15s to £8; old cows, £2 19s to £3 12s 6d; heifers, £6; fat sheep, 19s to 20s; hoggets, lis 6d to 14s.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. report : ANNUAL DAIRY COW SALE. On Wednesday, July 22nd, at Hamilton, we held our anual sale of dairy stock, and yarded over 300 cows and heifers. The weather was deidedly rough, which did not improve the appearance of stock, but all good cows and heifers due to calve within a month found ready purchasers. Good cows, either at profit or two or three weeks off calving, realised from £6 15s to £8 ss; good heifers, £5 15s to £7 ss; good young cows and heifers, due to calve later, £5 5s to £6 10s; backward cows and heifers, £3 10s to £4 15s; aged cows, £2 ss; to £4; milk cans, 10s to 15s.

HAMILTON STOCK SALE. On Thursday, July 23rd, we held our stock sale, but only a small muster of cattle were brought forward. Well fattened light weight heifers realised £5 4s to £5 14s; others, £4 10s; heavy cows, £5 Is to £5 10s; 21 year old steers, £4 4s to £4 lis; strong calves, £1 4s to £1 Is; Fat ewes, 16s to 16s 3d; fat .and forward hoggets, 12s. TE AWAMUTU STOCK SALE. On Saturday, July 25th, at our Te Awamutu sale we c#ered over 300 dairy cows, springing heifers, and store stock. A large attendance of buyers competed briskly for everything at the hammer, only a few aged dairy cows and backward heifers failing to find purchasers. Mr Tipput's 36 dairy cows realised from £4 5s to £7; a few aged cows, £2 5s to £3 10s; dairy cows from other vendors, £4 to £6 15s; choice springing heifers, from Mr F. Bowden and other owners, £5 5s to £6 ss; backward heifers, £4 to £5; choice 18 months steers, £3 8s; 18 months to 2 year heifers, £2 12s 6d to £3; store cows, £2 Is to £2 8s; fresh conditioned cows, £2 15s to £3 9s; a number of really good calves sold well throughout at from £1 6s to £1 14s; small calves, 17s to £1 2s; pigs all sold with brisk competition; breeding sows, £3 10s to £3 17s 6d; slips, 17s to £1; weaners, 8s to 14s. CLEARING SALE AT TAUPIRI. On Friday, July 24ih., at Taupiri, we held a clearing sale of live and dead stock at Freshfield Homestead, on account of Mr Moir. There was a large attendance of buyers from Matamata, Wairangi and Waikato districts and we report a successful sale' The 80 dairy cows were carrying their second and third calf, and being in good condition, sold well throughout at from £5 5s to £7 ss; a few backward cows, £3 10s to £4 ss; medium draught geldings, £24 to £2B 10s; 2 year draught filly, £ls; aged draughts, £2 10s to £7 ss; 36 calves, £1 2s; mixed sheep, 8s; sows in pig, £5 to £7; slips, 19s to £1 6s; boar, £8; disc harrows, £l2; tine harrows, £4 17s 6d; chain harrows, £2 10s; milk waggon, £6los; plough harness, £1 5s to £2 per set. The remainder of the farm implements tools, etc., brought good prices. On behalf of other clients we sold 12 springing heifers, from £4 5s to £5 12s 6d; bull, £2; young cattle, £l3s; medium draught gelding, £2B 10s; medium draught mare, in foal, £l4; 3 sows in pig at £5 each; 12 young pigs, 14s.
