ZULU REBELLION. Pietermaritzburg, June 28 Colonel Leuchars’ column has had another engagement with the rebels. Five hundred rebels delivered a desperate charge upon his column when it was in a valley on Wednesday, The rebels charged desperately down a hill upon the colonial troops but were met with a heavy fire, and repulsed. Six of the rebels were killed and many wounded. June 29 In the fight last Wednesday the Zulus adopted new tactics, charging down hill like a wave and opening fanwise. Only combined Rexer and Maxim fire checked their rush, the Rexer proving a marvellous weapon.
TROUBLE IN NIGERIA. London, June 29. Stubborn fighting has taken place in South Nigeria, in which Captain Wayliug was slightly wounded. Captain Kildekiu wont to his assistance and returned to Agbor after heavy fighting, with thirteen casualties.

THE SHIPPING COMMISSION Melbourne, Jane 27 The Shipping Commission’s report has been published. The whole report is practically an advocacy of a national tLct, owned and run by the Federal Government. It recommends a fleet of eight turbine steamers of 2000 tons larger than the present ships, of 16 knots each, and costing .£375,000. A fortmgmlv service is estimated to cost £1,207,000.
