HAMILTON RUGBY UNION, On Saturday last a match was played on Sydney Square between the representative fifteen and a team of juniors, resulting in a win for the former by nine points to six. The juniors played a splendid game and made it very interesting for their opponents. Mr H. Johnson was referee. SECONDARY SCHOOLS OLD BOYS V. FRANKLIN. The representative team of the Auckland Secondary Schools’ Rugby Union, who are making a tour of Waikato, Rotorua and the goldfields, played their first match atPukekohe on Saturday against the representatives of the Franklin Rugby Union. The home team were too strong for the visitors in the forwards and won by 13 points (throe tries, two of which were converted) to 3 points (a goal from a penalty kick). The touring team go through to Rotorua to-day and play tho local union there to-morrow, and on Wednesday they play a match on Sydney Square against the Hamilton Union. HAMILTON V. SECONDARY SCHOOLS. The following players will represent Hamilton in their match against the Secondary Schools’ team on Sydney Square on Wednesday next: —Castleton, Littlewood, Hughes, Prince, Johnson, Smith, Innes, Taylor. Elliott, Cleary, Clarkin, Harwood, Coates, MeGarrigle, M. Callaghan. Emergencies : Back, Wright; forward, Piper. The team are requested to meet at tho Volunteer Hall this evening at 7.30 sharp for training. Every man is particularly requested to be present. AUCKLAND V. THAMES. (UV TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION). Thames, This Day. Tho return match between the above representatives was played on Saturday, whou the Thames again won by seven points to six. Tho Australians beat Taranaki and AVanganui on Saturday. The combined team was outclassed in passing and scrum work. THE NEW ZEALAND TEAM. London, September 0. The New Zealand footballers, on arrival at Plymouth, met with a hearty reception at tho hands of the English Rugby Union officials. Tho team appear to be in good condition. The Australian representative footballers will go through to Rotorua by the express to-day. It is expected they will meet the Rotorua team on Wednesday.
