Waikato aboon ukitce. This Day HAMILTON STOCK SALIC. The New Zealand Loan and MbrCANTILE AuENCY COMPANY (LIMITED) report: — On Thursday last at our Hamilton monthly stock sale (held on that day on account of the Cambridge horse sale falling on the usual day) store cattle wore yarded in average cumbers, but prices wore dull throughout, and the majority wore reserved at the hammer. The beef pens contained 80 odd prime steers and cows, and all of good quality sold well. The best steers realised up to X 9 ; lighter weights, X 7 5s to X 8 Ida Gd; good oows and heifers, .Cl 15s to £ti 10s; well-bred yearlings, XI Os Gd to XI lbs; smaller sorts, IGs to XI 2s. Dairy stock offered beyond requirements, but nothing of really good quality was yarded. Good cows and heifers, at profit, XG 5s to XG; two-year heifers, in calf, X 3 15s to X 4 7s Gd; a number of inferior and backward cows elicited no offer above store price. A smaller number of sheep woro yarded than usual, but sold well throughout; good wethers, from XI 3s Gd to XI Bs. Store and young pigs yarded in good supply, and were in demand; woanors, 7s to 13s; store pigs, IGa to 20s. CAMBRIDGE SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) Report;— On Friday, September Bth, we held our annual spring oattlo sale at Cambridge and yarded 1860 odd head (the greater portion of these being penned in Messrs McNicol and Co.’s yards) and we report a successful sale. Calves and yearlings were lower from 5s to 10s per head than at this sale last year, but all the steers from 18 months to 3-yoar-old were required, and prices compared favourably with last year. Brisk competition ruled throughout, only two pons of this class not reaching owners’ reserves. Buyers were present from Waingaro, Taurangn, Lower Piako, Morrinsvilo, and all Waikato districts. The beef pens contained 70 prime steers and cows, and those sold well throughout. Best steers realised from X 8 10s to X 9 12s Gd; lighter weights, XG 15s to X 7 17s Gd; heavy, good cows, up to X 8 Gs; lighter weights, Xsto XG 15s; forward steers, Xs9s to XG 12s Gd; 3-year steers, XI 15s to X 5 ss; 2 and 2)-year steers, X3ssto X 4 10s; 18 months’ steers, X2 IGs to X 3 7s; yearling and 15 months’ steers, X2 4s to X2 13a; extra choice yearlings, mixed sexes, X2 to X2 8s; strong good yearlings, XI 8s to XI 16s; strong calves, XI to XI 4s; woody calves, 15s to 18s; fresh cows and heifers, X2 16s to X 4; store cows, XI 15s to X2 4s ; 18-months and two-yoar heifers, X2 2s to X2 10a. On the following morning (Saturday) we held a sale of dairy stock. Good competition existed throughout for good quality cows and well-grown heifers at profit, all this class going off at the hammer at satisfactory prices to the vendors. Good cows realised from X 7 5s to X 9 12s 6d ; others, XG 10a to XG 17s Gd; good heifers, at profit, X 6 5s to X 7; others, X 4 15s to X 5 10s ; small heifers, X 3 10s to X 42s Gd. Only six inferior and aged cows remained unsold. Three-year-old bulls, up to X 4 sa,- four-months-old pigs, 15s. CLEARING SALES. Messrs McNicol and Co. report:— Last Thursday we held a clearing sale at Te Kuiti on account of Mr Harding’s trustees. With the advent of a creamery in the district we had a large attendance of buyers and competition was keen for all classes of dairy cattle ; 15 cows made from X 3 to X 5 5s ; sow and young, 15s ; weaners, 15s ; and lot of dairy utensils, etc. made the usual prices. We offered 120 cows and heifers on account of other sellers, the best cows, X 7 15s to XlO 10s ; others, X 4 2s Gd to X 7 2a Gd ; heifers, X 4 to XC 10s ; calves, 35a to 335. On Saturday last wo held a clearing sale of Mr W. H. Allen’s dairy cattle, etc., on his farm at Morrinsvillo. There was a fair attendance of buyers aud a good demand for young cows close to profit. The 31 cows were a good lot, but had evidently felt the shortage of food through the winter. Best cows made from XG 10s to X 8 15s; older cows, X 4 to X 5 7s Gd ; cows with calves, XG 5s to X 7 ss; calves, 30s; sow and young, X2 10s ; slips, 11s; small springing heifers on account of a client, X 4 5s to X 4 15s.
