Svdnev, -June 17 Giving evidence before the Laud Commission yesterday, Mr Speight, replying to Mr Crick’s statements, said the proposed syndicate was 'mentioned to Mr Crick only in a letter, wherein it was proposed to acquire land by a special Act of Parliament, or at auction. It was intended to use the land for intense cultivation, and to spend £IOO,OOO upon developing it. It would have been a good asset to the country.
