THE BLACK FAMILY.
To-night the above-named company will open in the Volunteer Hall, Hamilton. As remarked in our previous issue, the company is deservedly popular, and worthy of the best patronage. An exchange says:—“ Rarely has a more enjoyable treat been given than that rendered by the clever Black Family. Each member of the family is musical to the liuger-tips and seems capable of picking up any instrument and performing creditably upon it. The chief artiste, Miss Nellie, is a whole programme in herself. She possesses a cultured contralto voice, is a charming pianiste, a revelation as a violiniste and delightfully bewitching in Hie humorous comic sketches in which her father is a valuable adjunct. Mr Black is a must amusing raconteur and vocalist. Ho can also take his turn at the double-bass or clarionette in the orchestral selections, and can sing a harmonious song effectively; but beyond all that he is a good general director and supervisor. Mr Bertie Black and Miss Elsie help in no small measure to the success of the company, which play all musical instruments under the sun. The family is in the proud position of being able lo form their own orchestra, which is a somewhat unusual condition of things.” A large audience is sure to greet this combination to-night.
