NGARUAWAHIA BRANCH. Tut, Ngaruawahia branch held its annual meeting on Saturday, 30th April. Mr T. Carless (Chairman) presided. BUTTER MILLING PLANT The Clevedon Branch of the Farmers' Umon wrote asking what support the establishment of a butter milling plant in Auckland would receive. The Chairmtn said as it was urgent he had replied on his own authority to the effect that, whilst favounng the proposal, ir. was not likely to meet with any support in the Ngaruawahia district. The Chairman's action was endorsed by resolution. SLACOUTERINO ACT. Mr Sturges, Vice President of th>3 Watktto Farmers' Club wrote ro amend inn the Slaughtering Act so as to allow oarcses o' animals slaughtered at any registered abbatoirs to he sold in lhe locil markets. The Chairman said he had repl'ed favourably to the propose!, and hs action was again endorsed by resolution. FARMERS' ASSOCIATION STORE. A letter from the Auckland Farmers' Association notifying that they tin. opened a Btore ac the Railway Wba.f, Auckland, was received. MOTTAL FIRE INSURANCE. Several members became subscribers to tho proposed Mutual Fire Insurance Company. The task of securing further subscribers was left to the Secretary. CROWN TENANTS. It was decided to discuss the proposed change id tenure of Crown tenants at next meeting. presidency ok farmers' club. The mode of electing the President w.-s advereely commented upon. The question waß set down for dis:ussion at next meeting. ELETTION OK OFFICERS The following officers were elected for the ensuing year : Chairman—Mr T. Carless (re elected). Vice-Chairman—Mr T. Patterson (reelected). Secretary—Mr H. A. Graham. Committee—Messrs T. James, E. Rathbone, R. Fleming and A. Nicol. THANKS. A vote of thanks was accorded to Mr R. D. Uuxfield for his services as Secretary to the branch since its inauguration. SOCIAL. It was resolved to hold the annual social on Wednesday. 15th June.
