J WAIHOU SALE. «A Messrs MoNicol and Co. report:— 'At Waihon yesterday we had a full yarding of stock, 781 cattle being offered, a number being good steers 2\ to 3i old. Prices all round were lower < last month's salt. There was a 1 inquiry at the lower rates, and •,of the cattle were Bold. Best calves, j 525, a few pens being exceptiongood ; others, from 20s to 38s ; 18;hß' heifers. £3 to £3 7s 6d ; 15 to uonths' steers, £3 to £2 12s 6d ; \-conditionod 3J-year steers, £6 to Is ; backward conditioned 3 and 3J■t steers, £5 to £5 14s ; 2 and 2J-yeur ;'o steers, £4 3s to £4 15s ; empty esh cows and heifers, £3 10s to £4 ; "csh 2J-year steers, £5 5s to £5 15s. Messes Alfred Buoexand and Sons' Reforl.—Horses : At the Haymarket on Friday we had an average entry and a good demand for youDg express horses and draught colts. We quote : Draught oolta £33 to £49, heavy express horses to £45, medium draughts £2O to £29 10s, light harness horses and ordinary hacks £5 5s to £lB. Hides, skins, tallow, etc. : Skins—Dry y "• and country, Is 3d to 2s 4d ; pelts, salted 2s to 2s 7d, dry bd to Is 8d ; lambskins, ' lOd to 2s 6d. Hideß—Ox 4jd to 5Jd, cow 4id to 4jjd, calf 4d to 5Jd, kip 4d. CowtaiU la sd, tallow 17s 6d to 20s, bones ss. Wool, in bags : Lamb 4Jd to sd, cotted 3.}d. Grain, etc. : Feed oats, easier owing to excessive arrivals. Maize also dropped in value from the same cause. We quote : Oatß le lid to 2s Id, maize 2s 4d ex wharf to 2s 8d ex store, fowl wheat 2s 9d to 3a 3d, barley 2s 9d, Southern chaff £5, local £2 10s to £4 5s ox store, pressed hay £3 to £4 10a, straw £3, bonedust £6 10s to £7, guano £4, blood and bone manure £6. At Pukekohe on Monday there was a full muster of stock of all classes. Dairy cows sold from £5 to £B, dry £2 10s to £4 10s, three to three and ahalf-year-old steers £5 13s to £7 10s, according to condition ; fat steers £7 15s to £S 2s 6d, •- cows £5 10s to £7 7s, strong calves 30s to 3Ss, yearlings £a lUs to £3. At Rerr.uera on Thursday dairy stock came forward in usual numbers and kept late values. Those at profit sold up to £7 2s 6d, backward springers £5 to £6, atore cows £3 to £4 10s. Fat and young calves, in full supply, were better worth, small selling up to 10s, medium to 18s, heavy to 50s ; 66 sold. There was an average muster of fat cattle yarded, which fully kept last week's values, and towards the latter part of the sale were better worth. Steers ranged in price ~ from £6 10s to £ll, cowb £5 to £8 ss. "'■-> Ox beef sold up to 235, cow to 21s per * 1001 b ; 230 sold. Fat and store sheep were well represented, and sold freely . throughout, beßt wethers selling up to 225, ewes to 16s 3d, lighter-weight wethers 163 to 18s, ewes 12s to 14s ; 1300 ] sold. Fat lambs, 10s 6d to 14s 9d ; 200 / sold. The advertised atore sheep were required and sold freely, the eweß selling from 8s 9d to lis 6d, wethers 12s 6d to 15s, aged ewes 5s 6d to 7s ; 400 sold.
