DROWNING FATALITIES.

[BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION) Temuica, Last Night. A DROWNING fatality occurred at Kangitata last night, when two men, who were trout-fishing, viz., Duncan Kobertson, of Timatu, and T. Twigg, clerk of the Geruldiue Town Board, lost their lives. The men were drowned while attempting to cross the mouth of the river in a boat. The river was deep and the current strong. There was a third wan in the boat, and it was thought last night that he was drowned also, but he turned up this morning, having been washed on to the bank of the river. Later news shows that the waves broke over the side of the boat and she was quickly swamped. Ohristchurch, Last Night. A lad named James MjConnell, son of Mr It. McConnell, solicitor, was drowned in the Heathcote River last evening. Together with an elder brother and several mateß, he was fishing off the Ferry Road bridge, and, losing his balance, fell into the river.
