* TAKAPUNA JOCKEY CLUB'S WINTER MEETING. FIRST DAY. (BY TELEGBAPH—PBKSS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, Saturday. Tiie Takapuna Jockey Club's Winter Mesting was commenced to-day. The weather was showery, and the attendance fair, aud the sum of £6,149 was put through the totalisator. The following are the results:— Handicap Maiden Hukdlfs.—Gilnockie 1, Tuni 2, Little Wonder 3. Won by five lengths. Dividends, £9 18a 6d and £2 2s. Handicap Maiden Plate.— Soultfish 1, Swagsman 2, Hdlflower 3. Won by a neck. Dividends, £lO 5s tid and £1 15s 6d. Empjke Handicap.—Durable 1, Formula 2, Paul Seutou 3. Won by halt a length. Dividends, £3 7s 6d and £4 6s (id. Handicap Hurdles. Princess of Thule I, Haydn 2, Hippowai 3. Won by three lengths. Dividends, £5 18s 6d and 10s 6d. Pony Handicap.—Forth 1, Sweet Marie2, Inspiration 3. Won by a length and Dividends, £ll 5s 6d and £l4 2s 6d. _, Handicap Maiden Steeplechase.— Puffing Billy 1, Pullack 2, Waimana 3. Won by a dozen lengths. Dividends, £5 10a 6d and £1 3s 6d. Royal Handicap—Cygnet 1, Austerlitz 2, Numa 3. Won by a neck. Dividends, £5 14s 6d aud £1 9s 6d.
