'ALWAYS READY FROM THE DAILY TELEGRAPH, NAPIER, 20th FEBRUARY ' From information which has reached us, we arc led to understand that at the annual meeting of the Millers' Combine yesterday it was decided to continue the operations which have rendered the Syndicate notorious during the last couple of years, but to make an except tion in regard to Auckland. If that is so, it appears that other towns are still to suffer from the monopoly sought to be established. In Auckland the Combine have met their match, so far, in the Northern Roller Milling Company, producers of the " Champion " Brand. The Company, by refusing to have anything to do with the Combine, prevented the latter taking an unfair advantage of the householders of that province, and, to a certain extent, havo assisted other districts to fight the unwholesome monopoly in breadstuffa, which affects the tables of the working classes to such a substantial extent. This has been done by establishing agencies in other towns for the sale of the Company's Flour. Napier has been benefited in that way, and aB the Company are engaged in such a struggle it behoves all interested in the issue to support them.' | -VrORTHERN-nOLLER-jl/TILLING / 10MPANY, J IMITED AUCKLAND. 3/3 P.
