The Waikato Argus Office. This Day. HAMILTON SALE. Messrs McNicol and Co. Report— There was a very fair yarding of stock at our Hamilton sale yesterday. Beef ruled lower thin late quotations, young cows and heifers making £1 to £1 2s per 100U>, steers £1 4a. Cows made £5 2s 6d to £6 5s ; well-fatted heifers, £7 ; steers, £7 10s to £9 15s ; fresh empty cows and heifers, £4 10s to £5 10s ; 15 to 18months steers, £3 14s to £4 5s ; two-year steers, £4 19s ; good strong calves, £2 to £2 5s ; younger sorts, £1 10a to £1 17s ; springing cows, £5 15s to £S 17s 6d ; two-year-old heifers, to oslve in August, £5 10s. About 500 sheep were yarded, mostly fat ewes and wether?, ewes making Ss Gd to 14s. wethers 14s 6d. Light draughts up to £34. AUCKLAND MARKETS. Porkers made from £1 5s to £3 10b ; weaners, lis 6d to £1 Bs. Hides : The market on Tuesday was not to firm for stout and extras, hut medium and light sold at late rates. We sold prime ox at 8d and B|d ; stout, 7d to 7£d ; medium, 5Jd to 6j[d ; light, s|d to 5Ad ; cow, 4-Jd io sd, extra stout to 5A ; "kip, 4£d to 4|d ; stags. 2d to 3-Jd. Sheepskins : Advanced in price, large salted selling from 2s Sd to 3s 3d, small and medium Is 9d to 2s 6d ; dry, unless well saved, are still neglec f ed. Tallow : Best rendered 25s 6d to 265, special to 27s 3d, seconds 243 to 255. Wool : We have put through a considerable business during the week at advanced rates. We quote : Fine crossbred 6d to coarse do. 4}d to sd, seedy 3Jd to 4d, lambs 4d to sd, pieces 2d to 3d. Bones, 4s 6d per cwt. Tails, Is 6d per dozen. Oats : The market is very firm at 2s 2d c.i.f. for wholesale lines. Fowl wheat: Present, quotation is 4s 4d c.i.f., with an easing tendency. Chaff : Good s mples of local are scarce and soiling at £3 17s 6d ex rail Auckland by the truck load ; poor quality neglected. Potatoes : Market overstocked with local, which are worth £3 ex rail. Dairy produce Butter: Still in fairly good supply, with a distinct improvement iu quality. Everything to hand sold readily, good creamery and separator realising 9J, ordinary separator Bd, poorer quality "Jd. Cheese ; Moving more freely, with prices unchanged. Factory, large s:id, medium 6d, loaf 6 : ;-d to Q!A. LONDON MARKETS. London, May 13—Canary seed 68s 6d, linseed 58s, rape seed 535. Total wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom 2,090,000 quarters, and for the Continent 2,200,000 quarters. The shipments for the week from America and Atlantic ports wero 226,000 quarters. Wool is extremely brisk, with a slight hardening tendency. Sales included ' Flonga ' scoured, 22Jd, and ' Masia ' 6}d. Tallow sales: 1535 casks offered, 559 sold. Mutton, tine 30s Od, medium £9j. Beef, fine 335, medium 295.
