PING PONG.
Yestkkday a representative ping pong team from Auckland visited Hamilton for the purpose of meettug the local exponents of the flame. I a the evening a series of matches were played in St. Peter's Suuday School. Nearly 210 people were present, and the greatest interest was taken in the various contests, which resulted as follows : M'sle Coehc (Auckland) beat Miss t'r.btree, 30-24, 25-30, 30—14. Misa Scire;ff (Auckland) beat Mrs Brewis, 30-17, 30-16. Misa Inland (Auckland) beat Miss O'Neill, 30—14, 30-29. Miss Brabant (Auckland) beat Miss Browning, 26—30, 30—10, 30—13. Mr A. Whitaker (Auckland) beat Mr A. Holloway, 30—14, 30-7. Mr Hill (Aucklaud) beat Mr Jolly, 30-10, 30-16. Mr Innes (Auckland) beat Mr Cole, 30-18, 25-30, 30-13. Mr Hemus (Auckland) beat Mr Davidson, 30-14, 30—26. The total number of points scored : Aucklau J, 557 ; Hamilton, 345. It was hardly to be expected that the Hamilton players could defeat such a ationg combination, and the stand they made was a good one To day the visitors leive for Te Aroha, and go on to Thames to morrow.
