OBITUARY

ARCHBISHOP CROKE. London, July 24. The death is announced of Dr. Croke, Archbishop of Casbel, and formerly Bouimt Catholic Bishop of Auckland, New Zealand. In 1865 the Most Rev. Prelate was appointed Parish Priest cf Doneralle ami Clune llnr of the dii cese of Coyne. In 1870 he was appointed Bishop of Auckland, a position lie held till 1875, when he wis pro-noted to the Archbishopric of Caehel.
