TAUPIRI.

Social.—A very successful farewell social was given here to Mr and Mrs Charles Greeu, on Wcdmsday, September 19tb, who are leaving here to take up a farm at Tauwhare. The hall was well filled and a most enjoyable night's amusement was spent, dancing being kept up until three o'clock, songs being given at interval by Mr E. B. Cox, C. Gleeson and others. The Rev. A. M. Bradbury, in a few well-chosen words, expressed the regret all felt in losing one who hud taken such interest in matters connected With the Church, particularly with the Sunday school, which he had so ably managed, wishing him every success in his new undertaking. Mr Bradbury then presented Mr Greeu with a purse and contents to purchase something, which would remind him of the people of Tailpiri. The singing of Auld Lang Syne brought the social to a close.—(Own ,Corresdondent). ' . . . •. •■■ ■■■'.
