THE CONFESSIONAL.
[united press association.] (by electric telegraph—copybight). London, March 4. In the House of Lords a resolution moved by Lord Kinnaird, who has taken an active part in the antiritualistic crusade, produced a strong debate. Speaking against habitual confession, Lord Salisbury said he preferred the open confessional box in the church to the secret interview in the vestry. If people, especially women, wished to confess to men, Parliament was powerless te prevent it. The Premier promised to obtain statistics showing the number of confessional boxes in use in the churches.
