Presentation.—A very pleasing incident took place here in connection with the breaking up of the district school for the miil-winter holidays. Miss Mainwaring, who has resigned her position as assistant teacher, was presented by the pupils with an add re -s, and also a very pretty bracelet. The duty of reading the address and making the presentation was assigned to Miss Lucy Bell, who acquitted herself admirably. Mr Phillips, who thanked the pupils on behalf of Miss Mainwaring, expressed the general regret of one and all at parting with Miss Mainwaring, and referred to the pood ffeliDg that had always existed between herself and pupils, uud joined in the hearty good wishes for Miss Mainwaring'a future welfare.
