Hides : Prime stout ox sold at 5-id to 6-jfd lb; heavy ' stout, 4|dto o|d ; medium, 4d to 4|d ; light, 3jjd to 3£d ; cow, 3£dto 3 ; |d, extra selling at 3|d ; stasia, l|d to 2±d ; kip, 3id to 4£d ; calf, sound, 3|d to 4|d, cut Id leas. Sheepskins : Large sold at ,3s. 3d to 3s 9d each ; small and medium, 2s 3d to 3s. Tallow : Medium rendered sold at 14s 9d to 15s 9d cwt ; rougli fat, ljd lb. Horsehair and bones remain at lust week's quotations. Oats:/ The market has been glutted, and prices have eased -£d to Id bushel. Present quotations, 2s Bid to 2s• 7d bushel. Maize: Consequent' upon the fall in oats, with heavy shipments and considerable s,tocks in town, this market has declined; Old maize is selling on the wharf at 2s lOd, and some sales have been made at Id less. New.maize is selling at Id below the price of old. The course of the market, depends entirely upon the volume of shipments arriving ; should arrivals only be small, there is no reason why the market should nob remain lirm at about previous rates. Chaff :1 he market is very strong, and chaff is selling freely at £4 5s to £4 7s 6d at rail. Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons' Weekly Refoet.—At the Haymarket • meadow hay has brought from 3s 6d to 48 6d cwt; straw, 16s to £1 4s load ; . pressed meadow hay, £5 ; carrots, £1 14s; Sydney lucerne hay, £5 10s ; chaff, £4 5s ; bran, £4 15s; blood manure, £4 10a ; guano, £3 103 ; bonedust, £6 5s ; potatoes, £7 10s ton ; oats, 2s lOd to 3s 3d ; maize, 3s ; ryegrass, 4s 6d bushel ; maize on wharf, 2s 9d to 2s lid bushel. ■ On Friday, horse stock of all classes yarded numerously. Prices for heavy draught Mere from £l4 to £24 ; medium ' draught, £7 to £l2 each ; horse, buggy, and harness, £3O; four-wheelers, from £lO to £25 ; roadster, £7 10s. On Tuesday hides offered numerously, obtained an advance over last week's values. Ox bides were from 3;]d to sgd ;/cow hides, 3|-d to 4^d; kip, 3[d ; calfskins, 2£d to 4d lb; bones,3s 6d; tallow, 14s 6d to 16s cwt; rough fat, l£d lb. Pelts offered nume- , lously, fully kept late values. Fresh skins were from 2s 6d to 5s ; country 3kins, Is 6d to 3s each ; crossbred merino wool, s{d to sgd ; locks, 3jd lb. At Kemuera, on Thursday, dairy cows in moderate supply, were dull of sale, those at profit were from £3 7s 6d to £5 ; calves, numerous, sold freely at satisfactory values. Fat cattle, in average number, 238 yarded. Good quality fully kept last week's quotations; secondclass, at lower values, prices were from 36s to 20s the 1001 b.; steers ranged from , £5 103 to £9 10s ; cows, £3 os to £5 each. Sheep, in full number, above 2000 yarded ; prices -were lower throughout the sale than, for many weeks. Fat wethers were from 2s to 12s 9d : ewes, 8s to lis* 6d ; store wethers, 6s 6d ; store ewes", 2s 6d ; lambs, 3s 6d to 7s 9d : "each. Pigs in moderate number, 50 sold, were without alteration in values. " Messes Hunter and Nolan's Retort. —Horsefeed, grain, seeds: Average. quantities have been brought forward, and a corresponding amount of business done. We quote—Maize on wharf, old ' 3s bushel, new 23 lOd, ex store 3s 3d ; seed, do., 2s to 3s 3d ; chaff, at railway station £4 ton, ex store £4 10s to £4 15s; bran £5. Horses have been brought forward in slightly increased numbers, but there 'was no improvement in the demand. A good many were submitted by auction at the Durham Yards on Friday, but bidding was slow, although most lots were cleared, Heavy draughts realised £l2 to £2l 10s each ; medium draughts, £9 to £l3 10s ; light harness, £3 10s to £9 10s ; hacks, £3 to £S 15s ; weeds, £1 to £2 ; hunting horse Gipsy Ptince I7i- guineas. Wool, hides, skins, and tallow : A very large catalogue was gone through. Prime ox hides made 5d to 6 : [d lb ; stout ox hides, 4d to 4|d ; steers, 3d to 3|d ; cows,. 2|d to 3fd ; kids, 3i|d to 3§d; calfskins, 3id to 4d ; bones, £3 12s 6d to £3 14s ton ; tallow, lis 6d to 13s 6d cwt ; rough fat, lid to l:[d lb; sheepskins, Is Sd to 3a (3d each ; picked skins, 4s 3d to 5s 2d; pelts, -Is to 13 Gd. Several bales and bags of wool sold from 4Jd to lb ; pieces, 2v,d to o.Jjd. Cattle : There has been a slight increase in the number brought forward, but fat beasts were lower in value than for some weeks. At the Newmarkes Yards, ou Tuesday, there was a good .muster. We quote—Ot beef, from 10s tolSs lOOlb; cow, lis to 16a. Steers ranged from £o 15s to £8 each ; cows, £3 6s to £5 15h ; dairy cows, £3 15s to £6 17a 6d ; store cows, £1 8s to £2 15s ; grown hteers, £3 5s to £4 2s Gd ; 2yr steers, from £1 17s 6d to £2 7s 9d ; yearling steers, £1 to-£L 7s Gd ; calves, 10s to £1 2s Ud. At Waiuku, on Saturday, at the mid-winter*sale there was barely an average muster, and Newmarket rates rules. . Sheep have been brought forward in large numbers, and showed a decline in prices of fully Is head on the previous' week's quotations. Wethers sold at from 7s 9d tu 10.- Gd each ; ewes, Gs 9d to 10s 3d; lami a. 5s 9d to 8s 3d ; store ewes, 4s to Gs 'Jd.
