CABLE SUMMARY.
The death is announced of Arthur Orton. of the Tichborne case fame. The British revenue returns for the financial year show an ircrease of £2,664,000 compared with the previous year. An examination of the steamer China shows that the bottom is penetrated in three places. Three thousand cases oi fruit have been saved fiom the vessel in good condition. A cotton spinners' combination has been registered in England with a cap : tal of £4,000,000. The Observer Australia upon her success in the interesting exhibition of Australian artists' works now being held in London. It characterises it as a fine collection, and says the influence of the French school is visible.
