WAIKATO COUNTY COUNCIL
The usual meeting of the Waikato County Council took place in the Council Chambers, Hamilton East, yesterday afternoon. There were preEent:—Crs. A. Primrose (Chairman), John Cordon, A. McKrae, J. P. Bailey, W. H. Thomas and S. T. t-eddon. Rate.—lt was decided to strike a rate of jd in the £ on all rateable property within the County. Model Faem.Fe>'CE —An application was received from Messrs Vickera Bros: to have the fence on the boundary of the Model Farm erected at once.— Owing to the unsettled state of matters in connection with the Tramway Road consideration was deferred for ihe present,. Bank Balance.—The Council's credit balance at present amounts to £307 19s lOd, out of which accounts amounting to abnut .€l2B had to be paid. Tkkdebs.—The following tenders were received for the earthwork at Lovell'a bridge at Taupiri :—L. B. Ewcn. £lB 10s: .J. T. Worthiogton. £72; Tebbs and Radford, £33 10s"; Booth aud "Wallace. £3l l'.U 3d ; T. W. Littlewood, £37 ;C. Crouch, £69 10s (id. The tender of Messrs Booth and Wallace was accepted.—TheCleik reported that only two tenders had been received for the work at the Mangawhara bridge, viz., Mr Henderson £47, and Mr Worthington £;jS. The former tender was accepted. Befaiks.—Crs. Bailey aud Meßae were authorised to call for tenders for repairing the approaches to Hill's bridge, Taupiri.
