It is not bad for a little community like this, considering we have to put our hands in our pockets very frequently to supply local wants.
Oiiaui'O Souooi, Committee. The monthly meeting of the above was held in the Council Chambers on Monday evening. Present:—Messrs H. Roche (chairman), Prince, Jones, Mears, Ranch and A. Graham. One or two small accounts were passed for payment. It was decided that a man be employed for a few days grubbing out fur/.c and brambles and generally clearing up the school grounds. Complaint was made that some of the boys going to and from school were in the habit of shooting stones with catapults to the danger of themselves and other people. The master had been communicated with on the subject, who said while the children were in his charge during school hours he would put a stop to it. After some discussion che Chairman was asked to tee the master, and request him to warn the boys that if they were found using catapults the matter would be placed in the hands of Constable Jones. This was all the business.—(Own Correspondent).
