TE KUITI SPORTS.
One of the most enjoyable days spout in To Kuiti at a sports meeting was the 16th hist., whin the Club held the record programme, and the way all the items were carried out reflects preic credit ou our energetic Secretary, Mr Mayo, who kept the ball rolling all day, find much satisfaction is expressed at the manner in which each event was brought on without delay. The following are the results : 100 Yards Maiden Plate.—A. J. McDouell, 1 ; C. Bennett, 2 ; Told Anderson, 3. A protest was lodged asa'nst McDonnell on the grounds of not being a maiden, but was not upheld. McDonnell won comfortably by three or four yards. Four others also ran. Putting the 141 b Stone. Pour entries.—Johnstone. 38ft, 1 ; A. Julian, 37f', 2. First Event of Cur-. A. J. McDonnell ((syds), 1 ; Kuru Kuril (syds), 2 ; Told Anderson (7yds), 3. Johnstone was disqualified for not sending proper performances. High Jujir. Five entries—A. Julian, sft Sin, 1 ; C. Hetit, sft 2in, 2. Boys Race.—McDonnell, 1 ; Julian, 2. 11 started. Hor Step and JUMI'. Seven entries. —Rangitoto, 41ft liu, 1 ; A. Julian, lift, n Second Event or the. Cup.—Toki Anderson (17yds), 1 ; A. J. McDonnell (14yds), 2 ; Kuru Kuru (i)yds), ,'5. Three-Legged Race. Five entries.— Toki Anderson and Thornton, 1 ; Bennett and McDonell, 2. 220 Yards Hurdles. Six starters.— J. McDonnell (syds), 1 ; Toki Anderson (H)yds), 2. Ladies' Race. Three starters. —Miss K. Meredith, 1 : Miss Cribb, 2. Maori Women's Race.—Miss Hohepa, 1 ; Hira, 2. Half-Mile. Five starters. —Armstrong ((iOyds), 1; Harsant (00yds), 2. This was the best race of the day. Harsant led until within (JO or 70 yards from home, when Armstrong came with a splendid rush and cut down his man in great style. Third Event of the Cuf.—McDonnell (17yds), 1 ; Toki Anderson (27yds), 2; Thornton (30yds), 3. Heavy Weight Wrestling.—Seven entries.—Hotukopa, 1. Light Weight Wrestling. Three entries.—Duggan, 1. Consolation Race. Five entries.— Manuka (7yds), 1. Tug-ov-War on Horses. Tc Kuiti v. Otorohanga.—Won in a walk by i'e Kuiti. Result of Cur. —A. J. McDonnell (8 points), 1 ; Toki Anderson (6 points), 2 ; Kuru Kuru (4 points), 3. The settling up took place in Mr Terry's Hall at night, and the whole day's sport ended with a dance.
