ThkWaikato Annus Office, Wednesday. W. J. HUNTER'S OIIAUPO SALR. Therk whs not a big muster of cattle yarded on Tuesday, only about 200 head of all classes, mostly calves and young stock. The calves especially were of a good class, and in good condition, the demand for which still continues. Grown steers are still neglected, of which there were only a lew in the market. Dairy cows were poorly represented, hut there is a demand for anything good in that class. The tone of the market was dull for all classes of stock, with the exception of calves, and they sold freely. The tram horses, as advertised, were offered, and appeared to he a good stamp, but only one was sold under the hammer. Horses, of course, at this time of ye.ir are generally dull of sale. The following are the prices :—One tram horse, I'll 10s; one hack, £5 7s 6d. Dairy cows, from £2 5a to £3 10. i (poor quality). Calves sold freely (mixed sexes) from 16s to 25s ; all steers, 25s ; sixteen months old steers, £2 6s ; ditto heifers, .10s ; 'two-year-old heifers. £2 8s ; empty cows from £1 (is to £2 19s ; coarse steers, three-year-old, in fresh condition, from £2 12s to £4 ; fat cows and heifers from £3 10s to £4 Ms. Sheep : Only one pen was offered, but were passed.—(Own Correspondent).
