TE AWAMUTU.

Concert.—The concert given in the Town Hall on Saturday last by Miss Celia Dampier, the child violiniste, was a great success. The attendance was very large, every seat in the hall being taken up. An excellent programme was arranged by the local talent The principal mover was Mr Charles Bowden, who worked hard to make the affair a success, which he without a doubt did, aud to him id due all praise for the very successful manner in which everything was arranged. The little girl was in her very best form, and her playing was lovely, she was recalled each time. It is very gratifying to see that the young lady has received so much of the public support. Our Musical Society very kindly lent their piano free of charge, and the Hall Committee made a considerable reduction for the hall hire, etc., and better than all, I have been informed that the proprietor of The Waikato Argus has made no charge for the necessary advertising. The following was *he programme:—Piauo duet, Misses Archer; song, " For the Best," Mr Fell; violin solo, Miss Celia Dampier ; song, " The River of Yeats," Mr Marshall; song, " Golden Love," Miss Jenkinson ; violin solo, Miss Celia Dampier ; song, " Sunshine and Rain," Miss Allan ; recitation, " The Bashful Bachelor," Mrs Hy'mes ; song, "The Wishing Cap," Miss Jenkinson ; song, "Only Once More," Mr Marshall; violin nolo, Miss Dampier; duet, "I Don't Want to Play in Your Yard," the Misses Ahier ; song, " Last Night," Miss Allen ; song, " The Death of Nelson," Mr Fell; violin solo, Miss Dampier. Farewell.—A social to bid farewell to Mrs Wilson, the wife of our late incumbent, takes place in the Town Hall this evening. It will take the form of the usual church socials, the management being in the hands of the lady members of the church. The attendance is expected to be very large.—(Own Correspondent). 1
