Quotations are:—Hides: Prime stout ox, s§d to G:Jd ; heavy stout, 3M to s]-d ; light and medium, 3|d to 4ld ; scored, \<X lb less ; cow in very active demand, best lines 3kl to 3sd ; medium, 3]d to 3fd; kip, 3£d; call, sd. Sheepskins: Lambs, large, 2s 6d to 3s 5d ; medium, Is 9d to 2s 3d ; pelts, salted and fresh, Is to la lOd ; oried, 6d to 10d. Wool : Inferior crossbred fleece, to 6d ; pieces, 5Jd ; lambs, 5Jd to G4.d. Tails : la 5d dozeD. Banes : £3 5s to £3 15s. Horse hair, Is ; tail hair, lOd. Horns, etc., at full rates. Bonedust, bone and blood manure, and grass seeds are in demand for autumn improvements. Oats : Business rather quiet, in view of new crop, and the belief that with increased supplies values may weaken. In lines good feed oats are worth about 2s Id, c.i.f., anil in small lots 2s 1-Jd to 2< 2d. Potatoes : The market.is very fully stocked at the moment, and prices have fallen to £4 per ton c.i.f. Onions : Prime Silverskins are worth about £5 c.i.f. Messrs Alfred Buokland and Sons' Weekly Report.—At the Hay market meadow hay has brought 2s ; oaten sheaves. 2s 3d to 2s Gd cwt ; wheaten straw, in demand at from £1 2s to £1 6s load ; maize, 2s lOd ; oats, 2s 6d ; ' barley, 3s 6d ; cocksfoot, 7s ; rye-grass, 4s to 5a bushel : Chesterfield gnano, £3 10s : bonedust, £6 10s ton ; maize on wharf, 2s 8d bushel. On -Friday, horse stock in usual supply, heavy draught brought from £l6 to £29; medium draught, £7 to £l6 each ; the racing pony Silkworm, £4O ; a spring cart, £B. On Tuesday hides sold freely and were better worth. At the country sales held respectively at , . Pokeno and Drm-y cattle were yarded in ; greater number than usual. Bidding ' was free, and prices showed an advance over la3t month's sales. At Remuera on Thursday dairy cows in moderate 'supply were at late values ; prices for those at profit were from £4 to £7 each. Store cattle in moderate number sold freely ; dry, cows, from 25s to 555, grown steers £5 2s 6d each. Fat and young calves in less than usual number were ;. better worth. Fat cattle in full supply ; 230 sold were at irregular values, and in v.L.many instances 5s each lower than last week. Prices were from 17s to 18s the 1001 b. Steers brought from £5 2s Gd to £8 7s Gd, cows £3 12s Gd to £6 7s 6d each. Sheep in usual number; 2000 yarded were better worth. Fat wethers brought from 8s to 14s, store hoggets 6s . to 7s 6d, fat ewes 7s Gd to lis Gd, store ewes 2a 6d to 6s b'd each. Lambs in moderate number ; 250 so'd were without alteration in price ; prices were fiom 4s 6d to 9s 9d each. Pigs in moderate supply were tetter worth. We a quote: Maize, in trade lots, 2s 7' bushel ; ex store, 2s lOd ; feed oats, 2s 6d ; oaten chaff, dull of sale, £2 53 to £2 12s Gd ton at railway station ; ex stove, £3 to £3 10s ton ; bran, £3 15s ton. For grass seed the demand has been moderate. For Canterbury ryegrass, 4s Gd to 6s bushel ; Poverty Bay, 6s to 6s Gd ; , local, 3s to 4s Gd ; cocksfoot, Gs to 7s Gd. Horses were again brought forward in ■ large numbers and met with a steady demand, and fully the previous week's value. Heavy draught sold ut from £l4 to £25 10s ; medium draught, £ll to £l7 10s; light harness horses, £4 to £lO 15s ; hacks, £3 10s to £l2 10s ; weeds, £1 to £2 each Wool, hides, skins, tallow, bones : Large quantities were pitched at the Durham Yards on Tuesday, and the demand was brisk. Prices for fat beasts were slightly in favour of the vendor. At the Junction Yards on Tuesday the butchers' pens were well filled, and dairy and Store were fairly so. Bidding was good •throughout the sale. Ox beef ringed from 17s to 18s ; cow, 16s per 1001 b.
