S.A.R.G. RAGES.
TO THE KDITOK. Sir, —Allow me to congratulate the above club on the very successful meeting held on Saturday last. Out of tS9 nominations the large number of 68 accepted, which I think is a record for Waikato, The weather was beautiful for the occasion, and the racing was very interesting right through, good fields facing the starter in most of. the events. Ihe only drawback to the meeting which I heard commented upon was the absence of a baud, which greatly adds to the enjoyment, and the officials will no doubt sea to this at their next meeting. The energetic Secretary (Mr A. J. Storey) and the various officials all worked w th a will to make the meeting a success, which it undoubtedly was. If the club keep on the same lines as they did at this meeting, they will be able to boast of having the best races outside of Auckland. With best wishes for their future welfare,—l am, etc., SI'OKTSSIAX. March Sth, 1897.
