BOWLING.
MASTERTON CLUB SINGLES. The final of the ehampion singles of the Masterton Club was played on Tuesday afternoon on the Club’s green, in th© presence of a large number of bowl, era, but the game was not so interesting to the onlookers as the semi-final between W. Christian and G. Stewart. The finalists were W. Christian and J. Campbell, and the result was a win for Campbell by a fair margin of points. Campbell waa drawing steadily throughout the game, but Christian did not appear to get in touch with the green.
Campbell started off with a lead of four points at the fourth head, and gradually increased his lead. On the ninth head,* the scores were: Campbell 7, Christian 2, and on the 13th head Campbell was leading by seven points, Campbell 12, Christian 5. At the fifteenth head, Campbell had retained his lead, but at the 18th head he increased his lead to 14 points, the scores being: Campbell 21, Christian 7. Christian scored a single on the 19th head, when the game concluded, the flanl scores being: Campbell 21, Christian 8.
