(Received Thursday, 11.56 p.m.) WASHINGTON, December 23. i Indicative of the extent of recession, the Works Progress Administration has reported that unemployment has increased by two millions since September. It is estimated that an additional one million to two millions will be unemployed before February 1, 1938, which is the basis of the American Federation of Labour’s jobless estimate, considered a reliable mean, of be- • tween eleven millions and twelve milunemployed, with the steel, textiles, ..shoes, „railroad, automobiles, and mining industries most seriously affected. $ v
