STATE THEATRE.

“BIG FELLA” FINALLY TO-NIGHT. “Big Fella,” starring Paul Robeson, is to be shown finally at the State Theatre to-night. Reserves at Adcock’s, ’phone 1275. COMING TO MORROW. “SING AND BE HAPPY.” Romance, comedy and music, blend smoothly and gaily in “Sing and Be Happy,” the Twentieth Century-i?ox picture which comes to the State Theatre to-morrow, when it will be screened at 2.15 p.m. and 8 p.m. The film features five lilting song hits and the screen’s new song-and-romance team, Anthony Martin and Leah Ray, with Joan Davis, Helen Westley, Allan Lane and Dixie Dunbar. First teamed in the Jane Withers laugh riot, “The Holy Terror,” Martin and Miss Ray l get their first romantic leads in “Sing and Be Happy,” a musical with a radio background, particularly appropriate for these two singers who have become popular favourites over the air waves. Rivalry between two advertising agencies seeking to canture a large radio account forms the lively background of “Sing and Be Happy,” with Martin as a barnstorming orchestra leader who is persuaded by his father, Berton Churchill, to enter his advertising firm. Sidney Clare and Harry Akst composed five song hits for the film: “What a Beautiful Beginning,” “Travelin’ Light,” “Pickles,” “When I Hear You Tell Me You Love Me” and “Sing and Be Happy.” Reserves at Adcock’s, ’phone 1275, or at Theatre, ’phone 1322.
