ISSUES IN SPAIN.

FRANCO WANTS MILITARY TRIUMPH. MEDIATION & COMPROMISE REJECTED. ATTITUDE OF BARCELONA 1 GOVERNMENT. (Received Saturday, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, November 26. The “Daily Mail’s’’ Burgos correspondent says General Franco stated that the war will end in a military triumph and not by mediation or compromise. He added: “I will always refuse to consider any Red Government demand for an armistice. Unconditional surrender is the only end acceptable to Nationalist Spain. ” “The Times ” Barcelona correspondent says the Government has agreed on its reply to the Non-Intervention Committee, but there is no announcement of its terms. Meanwhile the Government is closely watching the results of Lord Halifax’s talks, as it is suspected that “further interests of the Spanish democracy may be sacrificed in an endeavour to satisfy the voracity of dictators. ”
