WEATHER REPORTS.
Marfterton: Miss A. M. Brown reported as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday:— Barograph, 30,36; shade temperature, maximum, 60.2; minimum, 33.9; terrestrial, 24.0; sunshine, 2 hours; frost, 6.4 degrees. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 3 p.m. yesterday:— The meteorological situation over the dominion is still dominated by an anti-cyclone; a depression is moving slowly across the Tasman but it has been losing its intensity and is now only a shallow one. Forecast: Winds, light to moderate and at first variable but north-easterly to northerly soon predominating and gradually freshening about and south of Cook Strait. Weather still for the most part fair to fine, scattered ra'ins developing, however, in the western and southern portions of the South Island and gradually extending northwards over districts with a westerly aspect; temperatures mild.
