FOURSOME CHAMPIONSHIP. WON BY TWO YOUNG VICTORIO

COURSE RECORD ESTABLISHED.

(Received This Day , 0.35 a.m.) SYDNEY, September 6. Several strong pairs took part to-day in the amateur foursome championship of Australia, at the Kensington course, determined by medal play over 36 holes. The event is the curtain-raiser to the open golf championship. The winners were two young Victorians, W. D. Wishart and W. Higgins, with an aggregate sqpre of 152. Their opening round of 73 was a record for the new lay-out of the course. Their second round score was 79. J. Ferrier and G. Thompson (New South Wales) and H. Hattersley (New South Wales) and 8. Keane (Queensland) were runners-up, tieing with 153. The New Zealanders, C. Ward and I. Godby, who only arrived to-day, returned rounds of 87, 84, 171.
