CONCLUSION OF DOMINION TOURNEY. WELLINGTON WIN A. GRADE. AUCKLAND, September 5. The annual ladies’ Dominion Championship Basketball Tournament waa concluded on Saturday in favourable weather. The winner of the championship was Wellington with 10 points, Auckland being runner-up with eight. Southland Minor, with 14 points, won the second grade competition and Wairoa, 13, won the third grade. Wellington went through the tournament without a loss. In the seond grade on Saturday South Canterbury beat Wairarapa 21/11. The positions of the teams were: First grade.—Wellington, 10; Auckland 8; Canterbury 7; Southland 4; Otago 2; Hawke’s Bay 0. Second grade: Southland Minor 14, Hutt Valley 12, Ashburton 12, Poverty Bay 11, Manawatu 9, Taranaki 6, South Canterbury 6, Wairarapa 1, Waikato 1. Third grade: Wairoa 13, West Coast 11, Wanganui 7, Horowhenua 7, Hawke’s Bay Minor 5, North Auckland 5, Bush 2, Te Kawau 0. A thrilling exhibition was given in the match between teams representing the North and South Islands, which was won by the former by 19 points to 12. The following team has been selected to represent New Zealand next year at the All-Australia Carnival: forwards, L. MeHaffey (Southland), J. Willson (Wellington), E. Howard (Wellington), M. Tangye (Auckland); centres, M. Howe (Wellington), M. Martin (Wellington), E. Neame (Southland), F. Southon (Canterbury); defenders: M. Matangi (Auckland), J. Mitchell (Wellington), E.
